How we install a roof

  1. Tear off to the deck. Re-nail loose boards. Replace bad wood.
  2. Ice and water shield in valleys, chimneys, skylights, and dormers.
  3. Fiberglass-reinforced felt, not cheap 15-lb paper. Cap nails, not staples.
  4. Five to six nails per shingle for wind uplift. Chalk lines so courses stay straight.
  5. Materials arrive early the morning of installation, dump trailer the same morning, most houses done in a day, yard clean when we leave.
